The team had to study 6 topics: culture and heritage, teenage trends, family life, modern technology, school life, and health and lifestyle.

On the evening, the girls chose an unseen aspect of the two topics they had prepared and then had thirty minutes to write a speech, with no notes. Immediately after, the girls delivered their speeches to the audience and adjudicators. The Friends' team were placed first overall, after delivering three lively and thought-provoking speeches.
