GCSE Results
Friends' School joins with pupils in celebrating GCSE success.
Stephen Moore, Principal of Friends’, said that he was delighted with the success that pupils had achieved at GCSE level and said that School joined them in celebrating their achievements. Mr Moore added that parents could be justifiably proud of the high standards that the Friends’ pupils had achieved and thanked staff for the hard work, perseverance and dedication that had helped make this possible. 73% of the grades obtained by pupils were at A* or A, with 93% at grade B or above, a figure that was even higher than in previous years.
Mr Moore said that, although it would be impossible to relate all of many individual success stories, special mention should go to the ten pupils who had achieved 10 A*s and the eight pupils who had gained 9 A*s. A total of 54 pupils out of 145 gained 10 or more A* and A grades and 99% of those who sat GCSEs this year gained 7 or more passes at A*-C, including English and Maths.
10 pupils achieved an outstanding set of results with 10 A* grades including Hugo Henderson, Connor Taylor, Cameron Watson and Joshua Lindsay.
18 pupils in Friends’ received 10 or 9 A* Grades which is a fantastic achievement.
