FSL Tackle the Faraday Challenge 2022
A team of five Friends' Year 9 Physicists travelled the arduous journey along Clonevin Park to Wallace on 19th October to become real-life engineers at the Institution of Engineering and Technology's (IET) Farady Challenge Day. Pictured Isaac Mcordie, Rayyan Ali, Juliette Martin, Allegra Robinson and Katie McCusker The Challenge was set in association with UK Research & Innovation’s(UKRI) Future Flight Challenge and was based on future flight technology. The teams raced against the clock to solve a real-life engineering problem, putting their engineering and technology knowledge and skills to the test. The actual project brief is top secret as 187 Challenge Days take place across the UK in a bid to find the best solution! The team’s project narrowly missed out on the heat win, but it’s safe to say the students were tested to the limits of their problem-solving capabilities and creativity and produced a fantastic and very feasible solution you may well see in your day-to-day lives soon. |
