Congratulations

Congratulations to all of our pupils who received A2, AS and GCSE results this year. Everyone in school is delighted with what has been achieved, and pupils and their parents can be pleased with the high standards attained especially after all of the disruption of the last few years.

At A-level, results were excellent across all subjects, with 64% of entries at A*-A, and 87% at A*-B. 54 pupils achieved 3 or more A grades, with 18 achieving at least 3 A*. Although it is not possible to mention all for the successes, of particular note are Judith Brown, who gained 4 A*s and 1 A, and Rose Eccles and Megan Wilson who both achieved 4 A* grades. Rose will now go up to Oxford to read Biochemistry, while Megan will read Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Cambridge, where she will be joined by Kirsty Lyttle (also Languages), Helen Lyster (English) and Daniel Edwards (Medicine).

Harry Archbold, Caitlyn Capper, Finlay Crawford, Abdulahad Farooqui, Rachel Graham, Sophie Hewitt, Hollie Hunter, Jonathan Irwin, Leo Kennedy, Helen Lyster, Jamie McCarroll, Erin Megrath, Kiera Miel-Delbederi, Sam Netherton and Abi Sweeny all achieved an outstanding 3 A* grades.

At AS level, the overall performance was also pleasing, with a total of 46 pupils achieving at least 3 A grades, of whom 25 gained 4 As. 81% of entries were at grades A-B.

At GCSE results were of an equally high standard, with 38% of grades at A*, 79% at A* or A, and 94% at grade B or above. Special mention should go to the ten pupils who had achieved 10 or more A*s: Samuel Adams, Bryan Barr, Daniel Capper, Sarah Chapman, Nicholas Cheung, Matthew Gracey, Michael Grieve, Chrissy Hopkins, Ellie Luke and Harry Moore. A further 12 pupils achieved 9A*s and 1 A grade, with a total of 65 pupils – almost half of the year group – achieving ten GCSEs at A*/A.

We wish all of our leavers well as they move on to the next stage of their lives, and those who are returning to school this year can approach the next year with confidence.
