European Week of Languages
Each year Friends’ celebrates European Day of Languages over a full week with Assemblies, a Food Fest, quizzes, special menus in the Dining Hall, taster language lessons in French, German and Spanish delivered by the Sixth Form in local Primary Schools and a staff Pétanque competition. The wide range of activities and speakers from outside focuses pupil attention and thinking on the international world, not just from the perspective of the languages spoken, but also from the perspective of learning about the interesting and varied cultures around the world and some of the issues people in those countries face.
For the second year Jean Louis Devin organised a very successful staff Pétanque competition during European Week of Languages last week
